Almost 60 hours of pure gaming pleasure. Yes, there are annoying systems, such as the pathfinder vision; there are many garbage missions and an empty world. But in all these factors, the game is excellent. This is a real western in the setting of a zombie apocalypse. There is a very good progression: from battles with homeless people to battles with armed militia and from burning zombie nests to slaughtering hordes. There is an interesting, moderately large-scale world that is interesting to explore. The game even has a certain immersion – if you want, play as a tank, if you want – as a stealthy killer, or if you want, set traps everywhere. In RDR 2, this was very sad – in fact, the whole game was a stupid shooting gallery.

The plot is not brilliant, but it is more exciting than in RDR 2. Even local tasks are definitely more interesting than the dull shooting of lawmen in each mission of Red Dead Redemption 2. And yes, Deacon St. John is a more developed hero than Arthur Morgan. He has a clear motivation, he does not whine in every mission and does not contradict himself throughout the entire playthrough, unlike Morgan. He is a charismatic and cool guy. I would gladly play for him again.
It’s not without reason that I compare Days Gone and Red Dead Redemption 2. They have a very similar vibe. Lots of detailed, slow animations, collecting herbs and skins, lots of weapons, slow motion when shooting, a motorcycle/horse. Only during the passage of RDR 2 it was boring, and here the game flew by in one breath.
True, I admit that Days Gone is not so good for everyone. It is not for nothing that the game has amazingly contradictory reviews, which for a long time put off buying it. For example, my best friend choked on the 10th hour of Days Gone and, it seems, is not going to return to the game.

It’s a pity that there is no second part in sight. And I am very surprised that the absolutely tasteless, lousy Horizon became a mega-hit for Sony, while the publisher seems ashamed of Days Gone. Although, of course, a sudden announcement of Days Gone 2 would be a very pleasant surprise.
