Stealth action games from the Hitman series are no longer available for purchase on Russian Steam. When going to the game pages, the message “This product is not available in your region” appears. The changes were noticed to us by one of our users along with a screenshot.
Among others, Hitman: Absolution, Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts and the current part of Hitman World of Assassination have disappeared from sale. The Hitman series is published and developed by IO Interactive, a Danish studio. The company has not made any comments regarding the end of sales. The games are still available for purchase in other countries.
IO Interactive has not previously restricted sales of Hitman games in Russia. We thought that it is possible that the changes were the result of a bug or glitch from Steam’s side. But we decided to visit the russian page for the Hitman series games on Epic Games Store with an account with region set as “Russian Federation” and it looks like similar changes have occurred there as well.
Update: It looks like Hitman series is unavailable in Belarus as well.
